Folks, It's time to be on the flowage. The eye's are done spawning, the white bass are in full spawn and the crappies are in the shallows waiting for things to warm up befor they too spawn. For you fella's coming over to fish the Pete. you will need to use extream caition as the channel markers are not in place yet and from what I have found out they won't be for several weeks yet. There are many dead heads on the North end of the flowage where the river empties in.Justkeep an eye open for these hazards and you'll be ok. Now for the fishing. The eye's are still on the flats near the creek mouths and I have located some mid-lake rock humps where they were at also.Jig/minnow works the best right now as the water temp. is at 59 deg. I use my trolling motor to slip around on these flats.Get a hot spots map, and you will see the areas I am talking about. For White bass, stay in the river system below Nekoosa.Jig/minn. twister tail[white,flo-orange] work well with or with out a minnow. The crappies are scattered in the many bays on the flowage. The most northernly bays are the best. For you fella's that want some cats, try the channel that heads to Devils Elbow off the river.Musky season is around the corner and if your looking for a guide e-mail me,I'll help you out.River_Rat_54494@yahoo.com. Good Luck, and CPR any females.
